Personal Energy Manager ( PEM )
Energy is a very challenging problem that a lot of organisations and countries are trying to tackle. A lot of countries in Europe have plans to make their energy sources completely from Renewable sources. But the penetration of new energy scenarios into different layers of society is always found to be difficult, especially when it comes to normal people with minimum knowledge in these areas. During this change many individuals will become energy producers for self consumption. For this scenario to happen, better energy management and storage technologies for houses are necessary, as the renewable power sources are highly intermittent. The existing available energy storage devices are not economically and financially feasible for normal people to implement them in their living space. Solving the problem of energy storage technology is crucial to promote the usage of renewable energy among individuals. A new energy storage technique which is reliable, cost-effective and efficient is necessary to effectively commercialise the system on a larger scale.
We offer a new product called Personal Energy Manager (PEM) as the solution. PEM is a cost effective water and energy storage tank for excess energy storage. This storage tank has an advantage of High energy density because the energy is stored not only in the form of potential energy (water pumped from ground to tank) but also in the form of Elastic Energy. The storage tank will have a movable base with parallel compressible springs to store excess energy and the water pumped to the tank using the surplus energy can be used to compress these springs.This solution can be a highly cost effective one compared to the batteries and other storage systems present in the market today. The PEM will be an automatic system that monitors and controls the energy retrieval process from the tank according to the demand from the user side.
