Educational Videos

The challenge

We live in a smaller-than-ever world. Almost every device is connected to the internet nowadays, from washing machines to refrigerators, making it easier than ever to be a global citizen. However, our educational system is still an institute with brick walls and professors with chalk boards. How can we bring the knowledge from inside these institutes to the world? How can we educate people in a world dominated by fake news? Currently, videos produced by these organisations only reach little amounts of people, are quite boring (just a recorded webinar) or appear behind a pay wall.

The solution

Simon Pruijn is an experienced film maker and has special experience in bringing difficult organisational cases with easy to understand animations. We want to make great, understandable, educational content. During the UT-challenge, we want to research how we can make money of this, which field of research we want to make videos on first (as pilot) and how we can reach people best. What videos do work? What videos do not? Why is this project unique? We want to bring educational videos that people are willing to watch within and outside of the university. With a combination of education, humour and great visuals we want to reach a global audience with our brand. Subject Our educational videos will be about valorisation: how is scientific knowledge embedded in everyday society? Target groups: 1) people currently studying at a university or HBO (18-25 years old) 2) people near to going to study (17 years old) 3) business people in knowledge intensive work. Possible revenue models: Patrons Advertisers Merhendise We first focus on setting up a brand on an existing channel (such as YouTube) to reach an as broad as possible audience.
