Flower Garland

The flower garland industry in south east asia is not automated yet. Flower is mainly cultivated as cash crop for garlands in South East Asian countries like Nepal, India, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Bhutan and even in some parts of China. The garland is a hand-woven process that is time consuming and cumbersome.The idea is expected to automate the entire process, thus, decreasing time, cost and human effort. The home-based industry of flower garland would benefit the local entrepreneurs since the market for garland is even for animals as you can see in my profile picture. The same flower garland is used to decorate people, animals and houses and cars. This is rooted in the culture of South East Asia. It would be a revolution in the lives of those who depend on flowers for their livelihood.

Out team will design and build a prototype of a home-based flower garland automation unit. In the first phase, the team is proposing to build a design on CAD software and an electrical circuit to replicate the system automation. In the second phase, the team will build a prototype (since the unit is a small home-based machine) demonstrating the automation.
