UT Challenge

About two and a half months ago the registration opened for the very first edition of the UT Challenge 2017. We’ve squandered the campus of the University of Twente multiple times and visited pitching events in search of excited students who are up for a real challenge. During these visits the rumours about the University were confirmed: the students of the UT are very entrepreneurial if not the most entrepreneurial students of the Netherlands! In conclusion, the perfect place for our challenge where students can benefit from our platform, network and multiple training events.

In total, almost 200 projects registered for the UT Challenge 2017 (almost 400 students), of which we carefully selected the best 78 to be shown on the platform. Of course, we would like to thank each and everyone who registered for this edition of the UT Challenge.

Today is one of the first nerve-racking days for our contestants. We’ve made the first selection of the top 50 projects. These projects get the chance to participate in the speed dating event, receive more feedback from our partners and of course, still have a chance at getting one of those desired places for the final event.

Based on the contestants’ online profiles, shown motivation in the networking round along with overall completeness, the top 50 has been carefully selected by the organization of the UT Challenge.

All the projects in the top 50 get the chance to brainstorm with partners such as ASML, Nuon, Demcon, Sqills, TMC Group, Thales, Koopmans TBI, and Speakup during our training day: speed dates. This will take place on the 2^nd of May in the Design Lab at the Campus of the University of Twente (Gallery) in Enschede.
