UT Challenge
It's needless to say that the final event of the first edition of the UT Challenge was a great success! During the (also first) Entrepreneurial Day we saw many amazing pitches from the finalists. Combined with the annual Innovation Lecture we hope that you've all been 'disrupted' by the variety of the program. We would like to thank each and everyone of you for your contribution, enthusiasm and praises.
Early in the morning the Designlab started to fill as our jurymembers, partners, and visitors all came to see the first round of pitches. At the door, everyone was given a small device to vote for their favorite group and project. That is why in the first round the students were not only judged by the jurymembers, but also by the audience. The audience made their decision and Hops & Grains won, with their very authentic pitch, the Audience prize worth €2.000,-.

At the main event of the Entrepreneurial Day in de Waaier things got really disrupted. The best two projects of each category got the opportunity to give an extended pitch, followed by questions of the jury. In the Ideation category Hops & Grains and Standard Multi-Spindle Drilling Machine were invited on stage again. After the delibaration, the jury decided that Hops & Grains is the best project of the Ideation category. Congratulations!!

Very different projects, but after their amazing pitch, the jury decided that Aryzon wins the Prototyping category and a very nice cheque worth €6.000,-. Congratulations to you as well, we'll sure keep on following you in the upcoming months!

Of course, there was also the ASML Makers Award. A great award accompanied with a cheque of €2.500,-, handed out by Sikko Wittermans (VP R&D at ASML). This fantastic prize went to Standard Multi-Spindle Drilling Machine. Great job and we'll keep on following your progress as well!
