Precisely one month ago, the team behind Aryzon won the prize in the category prototyping at the UT Entrepreneurial Challenge. Co-founder Alexander Ceha impressed everyone with an amazing pitch: some even said they felt as if they were looking at a new Steve Jobs. Evidently, the jury was convinced as well, because it was Aryzon that was called to the stage and was handed over the cheque by Victor van der Chijs, President of the University of Twente, and Neelie Kroes. But it didn’t stop there. Here are a few of the things that have been rocking their world.

“As a start-up you grab every opportunity you get, though you never should forget your focus on your core business.” - Leon Schipper, Chief Commercial Officer & Co-founder

Kickstarter
Four weeks ago, they managed to fund their Kickstarter campaign 100% within 24 hours! Meanwhile NU.nl and Tweakers both, together with many other international media, devoted articles to explain their project and encourage everyone to get their own Aryzon because the campaign hadn’t ended yet. Finally, Aryzon collected over €109.000,00 through crowdfunding and they will soon be shipping 2.800 pairs of AR-glasses. Talk about success!

Media Jaarcongres
The team also visited the MJC. MJC is a Dutch media event which brings broadcasters, publishers, online media, advertising agencies, IT and the telecom industry together. The event provides its visitors with insight into the state of affairs in the media world, focused on innovation and inspiration. Aryzon was invited to be a part of this congress. We asked Leon Schipper about the experience:

“Our contribution to the congress – apart from entertaining visitors- was to show the media how the world is innovating. Multiple (new) innovations – applicable to the media – were presented by a variation of companies. As a start-up company, we were invited to take part and of course contribute to this event, which was a lot of fun.”

Since then, they’ve been mentioned in several magazines globally, their webshop came online at www.aryzon.com, people can check out the Aryzon and give their opinion @ the MediaMarkt in Rotterdam and Wilrijk, and their luck still hasn’t run out. Or is it more than just luck? Of course it is! It’s called being entrepreneurial, taking chances and creating something great. A wonderful example for every student at the University of Twente!
