Harnessing the Sun to warm the campus
Nowadays most space heating for buildings is done by burning fossil fuels. These have a negative impact on the environment, increasing the carbon content of the atmosphere which brings a host of negative consequences to the world we live in - the most well-known of which is global warming.
Our solution offers an alternative to space heating that does not result in the emission of polluting agents. We propose a system that is powered by the Sun to warm up our spaces to comfortable temperature. The system consists of a water storage that is heated by solar collectors. The energy from this warm tank is extracted efficiently by a heat pump to supply heat to buildings/spaces. The benefits of this system include an eco-friendly approach to heating, it does not have any emissions throughout its use-phase; an autonomous process that does not require supply-lines or constant supervision.
